We wouldn't want to marginalise the people who think two consenting adults marrying is *exactly the same* as a grown man marrying a small child. We wouldn't want the people who believe that being shuffled from foster home to foster home is much better for a child than being raised by two caring, committed parents who happen to be the same gender to feel left out. As I recall, his supporters roared with cheers at the time he was saying it. And now he may actually be trying to reach out to those who didn't vote for him (myself included).
