I Agree with Leroy Swailes...

…but not his reasoning.

In hearings held last Wednesday, Leroy Swailes, a preacher of some sort, joined Harry Jackson‘s group of supposed D.C. community leaders in testimony on the legality of putting marriage recognition on a ballot. Mr. Swailes is what my grandmother would’ve called “a bubble off plumb”.

I agree with Mr. Swailes that nobody should “look in the eyes of a child and tell a child that they have a choice to be heterosexual or homosexual.” I agree with him because they don’t have a choice. They can choose to hide or not. They can choose to love themselves or not. But they can’t choose to be romantically attracted to a person of the same gender or not.

Other than that, this guy’s on the moon.

was I supposed to be doing some kind of algebra? what was that? discrimination = a negative + a negative, or Civil Rights= negative + positive???? what? Did I hear some kind of freaky biology lesson about animals? 4 legs and 1 gender is a beast, so when 2 men have sex, they have 4 legs and 1 gender, making that act bestiality???? So, should we presume then that heterosexual sex is just as bad? that “new animal” has 4 legs and 2 genders, which would make all heterosexual couplings either transgendered, bisexual, androgynous, or even (God forgive me for this….) hermaphrodite.

and there are people who sit under this man's teachings at a church somewhere? un-freaking-believable.

I have a feeling Mr. Swailes is one of those preachers-without-a-church preachers. I haven't been able to locate a church for him at least. I wonder if Westboro Baptist is hiring?
