Taking Marriage Seriously: A Study in Contrasts

Simplistic arguments sometimes call for simplistic responses. Such is the case with the argument that lesbians and gay men don’t take marriage as seriously as do their straight counterparts.

With that in mind, I offer this comparison.
Straight wedding:

While I accept and agree with your point outright, this is a *bad* comparison.
That's part of my point.
They want to use outlying examples as stand-ins for the norm, I figure we should do the same thing.
