Veterans Day: Thank You Lt. Amy Brian

Army Reserves 2nd Lieutenant Amy Brian served a total of nine years, from 1991 through 1994 and 2003 through January 2009, including a 2004 deployment to Iraq. After returning home in 2005, she remained in the Army Reserves until a civilian coworker saw her kiss her girlfriend at Wal-Mart. Five months later, Lt. Brian was fired for being gay.
Her civilian coworker remains protected from workplace discrimination based on sexual orientation.
